ROD TileCal Hardware Development at Valencia

INSTRUMENTATION ON VME CRATES



INSTRUMENTATION ON CRATE CONTROLLER (SBC)
AND TRIGGER VME MODULES

  • The Single Board Computer (SBC) selected as the VME ATLAS ROD Crate Controller (RCC) is the VP 110/01x from Concurrent Technologies. The Technical Reference Manual can be found here.

  • ATLAS ROD Controller SBC Procurement Web Page.

  • TTC transmitter encoders are driven by a TTC VMEbus interface module (TTCvi) which allows a programmable selection of trigger source and synchronous signal timing relative to the LHC orbit.

  • A TTCvx module multiplex and encode the communication channels generated by the TTCvi and transmit the resulting modulated signal to the destination TTCrx chip (placed on the TTCpr module) via fiber optic cables.

  • A TTC PMC receiver (TTCpr) module has been developed as a PCI Mezzanine card (PMC) specifically for the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter DAQ. More info regarding the TTCpr module can be found here.
