José W F Valle received the A. v. Humboldt - J. C. Mutis Research Award on November 11, 2002. The award has been granted in recognition of past accomplishments in research and teaching and entitles him to promote scientific cooperation with research institutions in Germany. The award implies a visit to the University of Tubingen in the summer of 2003, as well as other visits to Germany at later time.
