IFIMED Beginnings
- - 2006: Conceptual Project favourably evaluated by the National Administration. At that time only 3 similar centres in Europe.
- - Conceived as a therapy, research and service centre.
- - April, 2006: Project on the ICTS map, in preparation for the signature of the Consortium between the Government of Spain and the Generalitat Valenciana Government.
Since then ...
- - Included in the European ENLIGHT platform since 2007.
- - Organisation of national and international workshops: IFIMED 2007, 2009, Jornadas RSEF/IFIMED 2016.
- - Support to international initiatives. OPENMED at CERN. Included in Divonne 2014, 2016 meetings.
- - Participation in European projects with leading experts in the field: PARTNER, ENVISION, ENTERVISION, OMA.
Project review
- - 2010: Revision of the project in 2 phases.
- - Phase I: Infrastructure of research laboratories.
- - Phase II: Installation of proton accelerator: proton therapy (fixed line + 2 gantries) + experimental hall research line.
- - 2010: The CAIS (Comité Asesor de Infraestructuras Singulares) approved the Scientific-Technical and Economic Report.
- - December, 2015: Phase I completed through a FEDER grant from the Ministry co-funded by the University of Valencia. Technical inspection approved in April 2016.
- - The agreement states that IFIMED is on the ICTS map, included in the Conference of Presidents, and its Report approved by the CAIS. ICTS evaluation to be done by the Ministry during Phase I.
- - IFIMED remained in 'Pending evaluation' status (Secretary of State for R+D+I).
