Instrumentation Laboratory

The IFIMED instrumentation laboratory is a general purpose laboratory for development, characterisation and testing of different detector components, electronics testing, design and development of prototypes.

A wide range of measuring devices and instruments are available for performing experiments for the evaluation of the prototypes:

• - Low and high voltage bench power supplies, high-frequency oscilloscopes and high resolution wave function generators, laser-based light sources,...
• - Motorised positioning systems with linear and rotation stages.
• - Black boxes for measurements in low illumination conditions.
• - Climatic chamber for measurements in temperature and humidity controlled environments.
• - 3D printer for rapid prototyping from CAD models.
• - Generic tools for the assembly of prototypes and for small repairs in electronics.
• - Gammatec with various exempt radiation sources for calibration and characterisation measurements.
