microPET/CT Imaging Laboratory

The micro PET/CT Imaging Laboratory is part of the IFIMED medical physics research facilities at IFIC, and is a unique resource designed to serve the research community, mainly for preclinical imaging studies, offering the possibility of obtaining in vivo images of metabolic processes in small animals by positron emission tomography (PET), structural images of small animals by computed tomography (CT) for the study of anatomical morphology, soft tissues, etc., as well as fused images of both modalities.

Structural imaging studies do not necessarily have to be limited to the biological field, but it is also possible to obtain images of small components or structures that partially absorb X-rays.

This micro PET/CT imaging laboratory is not limited to the services indicated, but is open to support researchers in the treatment of images or in the processing of raw data, as well as the study of any other application that the user can foresee and that can be addressed with this unique equipment.
