CSC Alignment Challenge

Plans

  • CSC notes planed for March 2007
  • Simulated events with misaligned geometry and reconstructed misaligned geometry (minor impact on event properties expected)
  • Provide set of alignment constants derived with "real" algorithm soon for physics analysis
      • Study more realistic scenarios
      • Quantify impact of misalignment on measurements
      • Establish feedback with CSC physics analysis community
  • Provide systematic deformations (twiki)

Data Samples

  • More information here: DC3 Requests and DC3 Requests: Urgent Samples
  • a) Multimuons: 1M multimuon events with 10 tracks each from a common vertex (run 7270)
            • 10.0E+06 multimuon events
            • flat pt 2-50 GeV
            • |eta|<2.7
            • varing vertex
  • Events with a common vertex
      • J/Psi 40k events (run 5702, 5703)
  • Cosmic events: Simulation and reconstruction not quite there

Alignment Challenge

  • We need to identify the missing parts for the production of ID alignment constants
      • Full ATLAS setup incl. combined TRT and Si
      • Required data sets
      • Later: calibration streaming
  • Study reconstruction with as-build simulation and default reconstruction
