Additional publication in JINST
Participants in LECC 2006 may be interested in the additional possibility to submit
your paper to a peer-reviewed journal specializing in instrumentation.
The Journal of Instrumentation (JINST) was recently launched by Scientific Director Amos Breskin, with support from
the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA Trieste) and the UK Institute of Physics.
More information can be found in the journal web
site or in the journal flyer.
Among the arguments for launching it were to provide a less expensive and more accessible journal, with faster response time.
JINST does not require authors to give up their copyright, unlike some journals.
Of course, we will still publish the proceedings of the LECC workshop, both on the web and with limited printed circulation,
but a JINST paper could offer wider recognition, since institutes usually give more credit for peer reviewed publications.
For many LECC authors relatively little effort would be required to make your paper suitable for journal publication.
There is no conflict between the copyright form used for the LECC proceedings by CERN and submitting your work to JINST.
