KaptonIII Hybrid

Setup

No optical readout is used, we use the old electrical lines.

The hybrid has no token-data connection between chip5 and chip8. So, the readout is done independently for the 2 links.

On the hybrid testing there was no connection between AGND and DGND on the hybrid. We didn't see a difference on the results between a setup with AGND-DGND connection at the power supplies and a setup with no connection at all.

Parameters

Trimming
The trimming was done at Qin=1.25fC. S-curves for every TrimDAC setting were obtained. The 50% points represent an extra threshold offset. A threshold in mV is chosen as a target, for each channel the difference between the target and the nearer 50% point (from a trim setting) is calculated. The RMS of the distribution of this difference, for the 128 channels in a chip, is evaluated (example). The target that provides the minimum threshold spread is chosen.

Threshold Spread

Bad channels. We fit a gaussian to the 50% points distribution. The channels that are at more than 3 sigmas away from the mean are considered as bad or non-trimmeable channels.
