2nd Circular:

Dear participants,

in case you do not see a taxi in Benicarló station or it does not come in a short time,
you can call a taxi at the number

964 46 05 06 .

You can train your spanish:

"Por favor un taxi a la estacion de tren para ir a Peniscola".

They will ask : "nombre"?

and you give your name.

Looking forward to meeting in Peniscola.

       +------------------------------------------------------------+

THE 9TH INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON THE PHYSICS OF EXCITED NUCLEONS - NSTAR2013 - will take
place in Peniscola, Valencian Community, Spain from 27th to 30th May, 2013.

The excitation spectrum of the nucleon provides a powerful theatre where to test our
understanding of QCD in the strong-coupling regime. Thus there are major experimental,
theoretical and computational efforts that aim to explore both the spectrum and the
structure of excited nucleons. Dedicated experimental programs exist to perform accurate
measurements of meson photo- and electro-production off the nucleon in order to discover
its excitations, and determine its internal structure. QCD-inspired models and
Schwinger-Dyson solutions of QCD aim to identify the key degrees of freedom describing
the nucleon, while lattice QCD strives to provide first principles calculations of a
precision that can confront experiment. Effective theories of QCD at low energies provide
a fair understanding of hadron interactions and the nature of many resonances. They make
predictions for many reactions which are challenging for experiment. The purpose of this
workshop is to present the latest results in each of these areas, and explore how
together they can build a picture of nucleon excitations and the nature of QCD in the
low-energy regime.

The program will comprise a series of invited plenary talks, together with contributed
parallel sessions and a poster session. The topics will include:

  * New results on pseudoscalar and vector meson production
  * "Complete" experimental determinations of meson-production amplitudes
  * Reaction models, PWA and resonance parameters
  * Baryon resonance structure and quark models
  * Baryon resonances in the N_c expansion
  * Baryon structure at short and long distances
  * Dynamical models and coupled channel analysis
  * Dyson-Schwinger approaches to baryon resonances
  * Baryon resonances in lattice QCD
  * Baryon resonances in holographic QCD
  * Chiral symmetry and baryon resonances
  * Laboratory reports and future projects

The workshop will take place in Peniscola,
http://www.peniscola.es/
a beautiful medieval town in the Mediterranean, with a XIV century Templar castle,
which was later the see of Pope Benedictus XIII of the Avignon line. It is situated in
the cost, about 140 km north of Valencia and 210 Km south of Barcelona. The different
ways to reach Peniscola involve flights to either Barcelona, Valencia or Reus (Ryan air
from England and Frankfurt-Hahn) and then train and taxi to the final destination, hotel
Papa Luna. The participants are expected to arrive on Sunday evening and leave on
Thursday afternoon (or later for those wishing), leaving four full days for the workshop.

TRAVEL PLANS:

Travel to the airports of Barcelona, Valencia or Reus.

Then you must come by train to the Station "Benicarlo" and then take a taxi
to Peniscola. There is also a bus from the station to Peniscola. You can get the train
time tables from

http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/index.html
(Select: Timetables and Prices. then press Find all Stations:
Choose Barcelona ( or Valencia)
You see "From the departure point Departure point Requested ..... , you can travel
directly to:
then select Benicarlo-Peniscola.

From Barcelona Airport there is a train to Estacion de Sans from where the
trains depart. From Valencia Airport there is also Metro to the Station (Xativa), or
take a taxi to Estacion de tren.

LODGING:

The meeting and lodging place will be in
HOTEL SERVIGROUP PAPA LUNA ****
Tel.: (00 34) 964 48 06 50
Fax: (00 34) 964 48 07 59
papaluna@servigroup.es http://www.servigroup.es

PLEASE MAKE YOUR OWN ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE HOTEL AND TELL THEM YOU COME TO THE
NSTAR 2013 WORKSHOP ORGANIZED BY EULOGIO OSET. Write NSTAR 2013 WORKSHOP in the subject
of emails.

We have specially arranged prices of the Hotel for full board. The food is buffet with
about 30 mediterranean dishes to choose.
The price for full board is:
40 Euros/day/person in double room
52 Euros/day/person in single room

MEETING DETAILS:

The format of the Workshop would be: lectures from 9.00 -13.00 a long break for lunch,
siesta and the beach (20 meters ahead) and a second session 17.00-20.45 to have dinner
at 21.00 (way to early for spanish standards, but compromise with foreigners). Everything
would go in Hotel Papa Luna so there is not time spent in displacements, etc. It also
makes the discussions among people easy and relaxed.

One day there will be a show of regional folklore.

REGISTRATION FEE:
200 Euros, to be paid in the Workshop site.

RELATED NEIGHBORING CONFERENCES:

The week after the NSTAR there is the International Nuclear Physics Conference in
Florence. Some of the participants of our Workshop might like to attend the INPC too. On
the other hand, the week of 24-28 June there is the Baryons2013 conference in Glasgow.
